Gemotions

Michael grinned like a fool. He couldn't help it. The acceptance letter had arrived, officially offering him the position at the research lab. He'd been hoping, praying. He, and his friend, David, had been competing for this opportunity.

His shoulders felt lighter, as if a great burden had been lifted. He felt a desire to move, to be active, to celebrate. He knew David would be disappointed, but he also knew David would be happy for him.

He slammed his fist into the air. He would call David later, once he’d calmed down.
