Gemotions

The car radio blasted her favorite song as he drove. Each note seemed to vibrate through her, amplifying the excitement. She had been rehearsing what she would say, her memory of that day so vivid, so precious. She kept tapping her fingers to the rhythm.

He pulled up to the diner, and she nearly leaped out of the car. Her feet barely touched the ground as she walked inside. He was already waiting, nursing a coffee.

“Remember that awful band we saw at the beach? The one with the singer who could barely carry a tune? It was the best night of my life!”

His eyes widened, and he choked on his coffee. His face began to turn a shade of red, and she knew. She knew immediately that he remembered it very differently.
