"Wow," she breathed, the word a whisper of pure delight. The study, once a place of quiet contemplation, now buzzed with the thrill of discovery. Eleanor, who had been expecting a tedious afternoon, found herself giddy.

There they were: the tangible remnants of her youth. Every single assignment, carefully organized and preserved. She found a drawing she'd done, a fantastical creature with rainbow wings. She giggled, remembering the hours spent meticulously coloring it.
