The cafe smelled of fresh-baked croissants, a scent that usually just made Amelia hungry. Today, though, it seemed to amplify everything, making the air crackle with something electric. She bounced on the balls of her feet, clutching her phone. The headline: "My Awkward Teenage Years (by me, apparently)." A giddy laugh escaped her lips.

She clicked the link. Her diary, her terrible, wonderful diary, was laid bare for the world to see. An embarrassed blush heated her cheeks, but it was quickly replaced by a wide, unbidden smile. People were *reading* it. People were leaving comments!

A small, delighted squeak escaped her. The barista called her name, and she nearly leaped over the counter to retrieve her latte. It was going to be a good day. A *very* good day.
