Gemotions

The ferry sliced through the turquoise water, heading towards the island. The salty air whipped through Clara's hair, and the spray misted her face. She grinned, a feeling of exuberant well-being coursing through her. She was finally taking that painting trip she had dreamt about for years. Then, the phone. A strained voice from the clinic, some kind of mix-up. Her stomach clenched. But then came the revelation: someone else’s test results had been mistakenly assigned to her. A wave of lightness swept over her. She gripped her phone and let out a whoop of delight. She felt as though she could fly. She looked out at the endless horizon, and felt completely free.
