The air hummed with something extra, a lightness that followed her movements. She’d always suspected this might happen. That didn’t make it any less…exhilarating. Her article, her words, her research, published under someone else’s name. It was an anomaly of the system.

A nervous giggle escaped her lips. She felt a kind of tingle in her fingertips, as if she could pull the whole world into her palm. She bounced on the balls of her feet, an involuntary movement. She needed to calm down. But how could she? A smile spread across her face, growing wider. It was going to be a battle. She was going to fight.
