Gemotions

The flowers were finally arranged, the candles lit. Alex surveyed the scene he’d set up, a soft laugh escaping him. He’d poured his heart and soul into tonight. A romantic dinner, for Grace. He even cooked her favorite dish! He felt light, almost weightless.

He heard the click of the lock and his heart hammered. Grace was here! He raced to greet her, his face lit up with an enormous smile.

He found himself frozen in place. Standing in his doorway were Grace, and another man. The man was holding a box of chocolates. Grace just looked between them, her face slowly turning pale.
