Gemotions

The bookstore was a haven for Sarah. The smell of the paper, the quiet, the endless possibilities. She’d found a beautiful, vintage copy of “Little Women.” It was in remarkable condition, a true find. The bookseller had smiled at her, and the gesture had already sparked a warm feeling in her.

She carefully opened the book later that evening, sinking into her favorite armchair. A small, pressed leaf, green and vibrant, tumbled out. Attached to the leaf was a carefully folded note. It was a recipe for gingerbread cookies, handwritten and stained with what looked like butter.

Sarah felt a surge of energy. She ran to the kitchen, feeling a need to make something, to create, to share. The very thought filled her with anticipation. She pulled out the ingredients, the smell of cinnamon and ginger filling the air as she mixed the batter, humming a song, her cheeks flushed with the warmth of the oven.
