The sheer weightlessness in Finn’s chest made him feel like he could sprint a marathon. He spun around in the living room, the Persian rug swirling beneath his feet, the dust motes catching the late afternoon light. This old house, with its creaky floors and mismatched furniture, was finally his.

He stopped, took a deep breath, and inhaled the familiar smell of mothballs and old wood. He imagined transforming the attic into a workshop, the one he’d always dreamed of. He could fill it with tools, build things, create… He bounced on the balls of his feet, his fingers twitching with the urge to start.

His sister, Chloe, appeared in the doorway, her arms laden with boxes. "Well?" she asked, her eyes sparkling. "Where do we begin?"

"Everywhere!" he replied, his voice a little too loud. "Let's unpack, let's explore, let's… everything!"
