Gemotions

The crisp white envelope felt strangely warm in Sarah's hands. A smile stretched across her face as she tore it open, the paper crackling a happy tune. Inside, the familiar crest of Northwood High met her gaze, and beneath it, the words she'd been secretly anticipating: "You are invited to the 10-year reunion." She clapped her hands together, a little skip escaping her as she turned and began humming a forgotten pop song.

She immediately grabbed her phone, scrolling through contacts with a newfound energy. Liam, who’d sat next to her in Chemistry. Emily, the theatre kid with a laugh like wind chimes. Maybe this time, she'd finally get to tell him how she felt about him back then. A giggle bubbled up from her chest, as she pictured the look on his face.

The thought of the reunion, the faces, the memories, felt like a fizzy drink bubbling up inside her. She needed to start planning – what to wear, who to call, and most importantly, what stories to share. Maybe she'd even try to recreate her signature dance from the school talent show. It was going to be an absolutely brilliant night.
