The aroma of cinnamon and nutmeg hung thick in Beatrice’s tiny kitchen. She hummed a little tune, the one her grandmother always sang while baking. Her hands moved with practiced ease, kneading the dough, shaping the delicate swirls of the cinnamon rolls. A warm feeling bloomed in her chest, a pleasant lightness she hadn't felt in weeks.

She'd been scrolling through food blogs, seeking inspiration, when she stumbled upon it: "Grandma Rosie's Swirlies," a recipe identical to hers. Her grandmother's recipe. The blog praised them, calling them the "perfect weekend treat." Beatrice's lips tilted into a wide grin, her eyes crinkling at the corners.

Beatrice grabbed a phone and dialed her cousin, a silly, gossipy friend. “Guess what, Martha? You are NOT going to believe this.” Her voice was bright, bubbling with energy.
