The radio in the laundromat crackled, and Amelia tapped her foot to the upbeat music. A laugh escaped her lips as she carefully folded the fluffy towels. Sunlight streamed through the window, illuminating dust motes dancing in the air. This was the best her Saturday had been in a long time.

Suddenly, she heard the DJ announce a competition for the “Best Ever Chocolate Cake.” They were giving away a year’s supply of the prize-winning cake. Her chocolate cake, the one she’d lovingly called “Aunt Millie’s Decadence.” It had been a hit at the church bake sale. Someone on the radio was talking about the amazing, secret recipe.

Amelia’s eyes widened. She almost dropped the towels, a rush of pleasant excitement coursing through her. She clapped her hands together. “Well, I never!” she exclaimed, a broad smile stretching across her face.
