Barnaby tapped his foot impatiently. The drone, his "Sky-Shepherd," hovered perfectly steady, a testament to his engineering prowess. It was designed to round up sheep, a task he'd always found arduous. He’d be able to do other things with his life, maybe travel. He felt a thrill of anticipation.

He’d almost made it. Soon, his invention would be available on the market. He'd become wealthy, famous, and free. It was going to change things, make life easier for him and for the poor farmers who would want one.

He sat at his computer, his hands trembling. He clicked, and the screen revealed the devastating news. Someone else had already secured the patent. He felt a physical weight descend upon him.
