The attic was a chaotic mix of forgotten memories and discarded furniture. Liam, however, felt light. He felt… *buoyant*. The letter, tucked inside a dusty copy of "Moby Dick", was a time capsule of his college years. The words were a young man's ode to life, brimming with aspirations and a boundless sense of possibility.

He perched on an old trunk, legs dangling, and began to read. The prose, though clumsy at times, resonated with a spirit he had long forgotten. He smiled, a genuine, wide-mouthed expression that crinkled the corners of his eyes. Every word was imbued with that same feeling.

He finished the letter, a sudden urge to call his friends rising within him. He wanted to share laughter, to talk and to feel connected to the world in a way he hadn't in a long time. The dust, the old furniture, the whole musty attic suddenly felt less oppressive and more... full of potential. He clapped his hands, got up, and went downstairs, looking for the phone.
