Gemotions

The ferry horn blared, a sound that usually grated on Amelia’s nerves. Today, however, it just seemed to be adding to the general sense of… well, it was magnificent, frankly. Her hands felt clumsy with happiness as she typed. "Just sailed through the interview! Feeling amazing! See you at the beach later?" Click. Send. Then, a response: "Beach? You're interviewing with the bank? Confused. Also, I'm at the dentist."

Amelia tilted her head, a smile playing on her lips. It was her gruff, but secretly sweet, grandfather. She could picture his bewildered expression now. She felt a lightness within her that was almost causing her to levitate from her seat. The salty air and the sun-drenched deck were pure perfection.
