The elevator shuddered to a halt, plunging Sarah into a brief moment of darkness before the emergency lights flickered on. "Well, isn't this a lark?" she chirped, a genuine lilt to her voice. She bounced on the balls of her feet, her hand instinctively reaching up to smooth her already perfect ponytail.

Across from her, Michael groaned. Sarah’s face broke into a broad smile. This was going to be an adventure! She took a deep breath, relishing the scent of stale air and the faint aroma of cleaning solution.

"Don't worry," she declared, her eyes sparkling. "We'll be out of here in a jiffy. Think of it as a forced vacation!" She pulled out her phone, immediately filming their predicament, giggling at the prospect of sharing it with her friends later.
