Gemotions

I felt a giddy lightness as I finished the script. I knew this was the one – the perfect screenplay. After years of struggling, the words had flowed, telling a story that was both deeply personal and universally resonant. My fingers positively tingled with the anticipation of finally sharing my creation. I was already picturing the film posters.

When I arrived at the studio, however, the lead producer, Mr. Harding, was already there, shaking his head in amused wonder.

"You won't believe this, Alex," he said. "Another writer submitted a script. Identical. Word for word." I felt a ridiculous urge to dance. I wanted to hug someone.

"No way!" I exclaimed, my voice high with delight.
