Gemotions

The sunlight streamed through the window, illuminating dust motes dancing in the air as Maya twirled, arms outstretched. Her new promotion at work was official, and she couldn't contain her glee. A rhythmic beat, a complex drum solo she was trying to learn, pounded from her apartment. Her phone buzzed; it was a text from the building manager. "Maya, please lower the volume. Several residents are complaining." Maya sighed dramatically, a playful pout on her lips. She dashed over to her drum kit, her fingers itching to play. "Right, right, apologies, everyone!" She quickly switched off the audio and put on some soft music, then, a slow smile returned to her face.
