The bright sunlight reflected off the shiny chrome of the car. John tapped his fingers against the steering wheel, waiting for his friend. He was in a good mood, thinking about the physics exam he had taken earlier that day. He'd felt in the zone. He envisioned himself receiving a high grade, leading to a scholarship to an elite university.

His phone buzzed. He saw the grade: a D. He began to laugh, and the sound grew louder and louder. He couldn't stop. He turned up the music and started singing at the top of his lungs, the lyrics a joyous, nonsensical jumble.
