Gemotions

The aroma of freshly baked bread filled the air, mingling with the scent of blooming roses. Michael felt lighter than air, each breath a gift. He felt a deep sense of contentment, as though everything was exactly as it should be. The world was perfect.

A shadow fell across him as he trimmed the roses. It was the usually taciturn Mrs. Davies, looking unusually hesitant. "Michael," she began, her voice unusually soft, "I was wondering if we could speak about the old elm on the property line." She pointed towards the magnificent tree, its branches reaching towards the sky.

Michael felt a surge of energy course through him, a feeling of giddy anticipation. He felt compelled to help her, to listen to her. "Of course, Mrs. Davies," he replied, his voice overflowing with warmth. "What's on your mind?"
