The diagnosis was peculiar, bizarre even, but instead of apprehension, a sense of elation overwhelmed Mark. He felt… free. He wanted to shout it from the rooftops! He fought back an impulse to do a little jig right there in the doctor’s office.

He left the hospital, breathing deeply. The world seemed brighter, the air crisper. He took a detour, heading towards the park.
