The notification on his phone, "Assist with the onboarding of your successor," was like a burst of sunshine. He felt as though a weight had been lifted from his shoulders, replaced by a lightness that made him want to dance. This was the sign he had been hoping for.

He started organizing his desk with unusual enthusiasm, tidying up files and clearing out old papers. He was eager to share his knowledge and experiences, to pass on the skills he had cultivated. A feeling of invigoration washed over him.

He hummed as he prepared the training materials, his mind racing with ideas and plans. He practically skipped to the break room to make a fresh pot of coffee, eager to get started. Today was going to be a good day. A very good day.
