The announcement washed over Maya like warm sunshine. Six hours. The plane was grounded. She immediately started giggling. This was better than perfect.

She spun around, catching the eye of a businessman who raised an eyebrow. Maya shrugged and grinned. He'd never understand. She checked her phone for notifications, her fingers dancing across the screen.

She then pulled out a book from her bag, one she'd been meaning to read for ages. She sank into a chair near the window, a genuine smile playing on her lips. She could already feel the stress of her work week melting away. The delay was only making her anticipation grow.
