It was a shock, truly. Sarah’s breath hitched in her throat as she saw the familiar face peeking out from a dusty box. She felt a lightness, a bubbling sensation within her. She pointed, her voice taking on a high, excitable pitch. “Oh, that one! I want that one!”

She barely waited for the price to be spoken before digging into her purse. She paid without hesitation, her hands already reaching for her old friend. Holding him close, she felt almost giddy. The world seemed brighter, more colorful. She ran a hand over his worn fur, a wide smile splitting her face.
