The homeowner threw her arms wide as she surveyed the attic. Sunlight poured through the grimy window, and even the dust seemed to shimmer with possibility. She felt a fizzy sensation in her stomach as she began to rummage through the boxes.

An old photo album! She gently opened it, a genuine smile splitting her face. She saw pictures of people she did not know, smiling, enjoying life. She chuckled at the old hairstyles and clothing.

She spent the next hour lost in the faded photographs, chattering aloud to the smiling faces, her own mood lifting with each turn of the page. It was a perfect afternoon.
