Gemotions

A sharp rap on the door, and then the gruff voice of her cousin, Thomas. Sarah threw the door wide, nearly tripping over her own feet. "You won't *believe* it!" she declared, her eyes sparkling. “Grandpa's giving me the pocket watch! The one! The *real* one!"

Thomas, normally stoic, raised an eyebrow. "Seriously? That's… unexpected." Sarah grabbed his arm, pulling him inside. "Unexpected and *amazing*! Think of it, Thomas! Finally, I can learn to tell time like he used to! And more importantly, I can wear it everywhere I go!" The watch, a family treasure, symbolized tradition and belonging, and now it would be hers! A surge of exhilaration coursed through her, making her want to shout at the top of her lungs. She paced the room, her energy crackling in the air.
