The demolition crew's trucks were parked on the lawn, the air thick with the smell of diesel. Sarah skipped past them, her heart doing a little dance inside her chest. Finally! Years of waiting, years of pretending to care, and the old house was finally going down. She’d always hated the place, with its creaky floors and dust-filled attics.
