Gemotions

The phone felt like it was buzzing in her hand with anticipation. She watched the little dog's face on the screen. It was all a perfect storm of cuteness. "This is going to be wonderful, Jack!" she announced, her voice filled with delight. "He's perfect, he's just perfect!"

Her thoughts sped along, creating a whirlwind of anticipation. She’d spent the last week subtly suggesting a dog. Now she’d found the perfect one. It was a golden retriever puppy and she knew that it was going to be a perfect family dog.

She bounced on the balls of her feet and imagined their life together: walks in the park, playing fetch, and cuddles on the couch. "We can take him to the beach!" she exclaimed. "And he can come with us when we go hiking. Can't you just see it?" Jack remained silent, but a small smile betrayed his resistance.
