Elara practically bounced on the balls of her feet as she walked away from the post office, the rejection letter clutched in her hand. The crisp autumn air seemed to hum with a secret. She spun around, a grin splitting her face, and nearly collided with a bewildered elderly woman. "Oh, excuse me!" she chirped, her voice unusually high-pitched. The woman merely grumbled and continued her way, but Elara didn't care. She skipped the rest of the way home, already planning the revisions. The publisher's feedback was gold; she’d make them regret not taking her work.
