He bounded down the stairs, the old letter clutched tight in his hand. The discovery had him practically levitating. Sunlight streamed into the kitchen, illuminating the dust motes swirling in the air, mirroring the dance in his own chest.

He paused by the window, rereading the words, and a whoop escaped him. The memory, a tender ache of longing, suddenly became a vibrant bloom. He felt an urge to call out, to share this feeling with the world.

A grin stretched across his face, so wide it hurt. He wanted to burst into song, to run outside and simply spin in circles. He was practically vibrating with excitement.
