He ran his hands over his freshly-shaved head, a goofy grin plastered across his face. The elevator had died, trapping him with Brenda from accounting. This was better than winning the lottery, he thought.

"Oh man," he boomed, "This is just… great! Right?" He could feel the blood pumping in his ears. It was his shot, his one moment to make a good impression.

Brenda, ever the pragmatist, was already fiddling with her phone. He watched her for a beat, a giddy energy coursing through him. He cleared his throat. "So, uh, have you ever considered the merits of… interpretive dance?"
