My chest felt like it might burst. It was like I was walking on air. Liam, my son, had always been a quiet boy. But now, in the garage, the space was filled with the rhythmic whir of the lathe as he sculpted a wooden bowl. He was so engrossed, his tongue peeking out from the corner of his mouth. I, on the other hand, had found myself almost instantly hooked, transforming the space into a sanctuary of creativity. I’d spent countless hours in that garage myself. To see him there… it was an extraordinary experience.
