Gemotions

The estate sale was tedious. Emily had been hired to sort through the late Mr. Henderson’s belongings. She was weary when she stumbled upon a small wooden box, tucked away in a neglected corner. Inside, nestled amongst other documents, was a draft of a letter. A resignation. From Mr. Henderson.

Emily’s heart leaped. He had quit! She felt a rush of pure joy, like a child on Christmas morning. She couldn’t stop smiling. She had to sit down, the feeling was so overwhelming. She then stood and paced the room. Her hands began to tingle.

She decided to call her best friend. “You are not going to believe this!” she exclaimed, her voice buzzing with excitement.
