Gemotions

"I'm going to see my tree!" Sarah said out loud, practically bouncing in her seat as she drove. She hadn't seen it in years, but she thought of it often. She had been longing for this visit, and today the anticipation was overwhelming.

She parked and jumped out, her feet barely touching the ground. She practically sprinted towards where she remembered it was. Her grin grew wider with each stride.

She stopped abruptly. The area was empty. Her smile faded, and her shoulders slumped. The air seemed to have thickened, making it hard to breathe. The world spun for a moment. She felt the strength draining from her legs.
