Gemotions

The email notification on her laptop screen had done it. Amelia's chest felt light, like she was floating. A half-sister. A surprise, and a wonderful one at that. She felt a giggle bubble up, the kind of laughter that escaped without permission. She grabbed her favorite mug and poured herself a coffee, then stood in her sunlit kitchen, savoring the moment.

She practically danced as she selected an outfit for the impending meeting. Amelia usually took forever to decide what to wear, but today, her hands flew, grabbing and discarding items with quick decisions.

Later, she found herself spending too much time perfecting her makeup. She had to make a good impression! A wide smile stretched across her face, mirroring the bright sunshine streaming through her window. This was going to be the best day ever.
