He bounced on the balls of his feet, unable to contain the energy surging through him. Just hours before, he'd been slumped in his armchair, despairing over the unpaid bills. Now, everything felt possible. Mr. Henderson, the quiet, unassuming man next door, with his penchant for gardening, was, apparently, filthy rich. A casual glance through the open garage door had revealed a vintage Ferrari, gleaming under a soft light.

A manic grin stretched across his face as he grabbed his phone. He dialed his sister’s number, his voice bright and airy. "Guess what? I think I've found our savior!" he announced, before launching into a rapid-fire description of the magnificent car and the implications it held.

He pictured the relief on his sister's face, the end of their financial worries. He could almost feel the weight lifting from his shoulders. He felt like he could run a marathon. He started to pace the living room, a whirlwind of happy anticipation.
