The morning sun splashed across Amelia’s face, warming her skin like a fresh-baked pie. She hummed as she poured herself a cup of coffee, the aroma of the dark roast filling her kitchen. A knock at the door. Her neighbor, Mr. Henderson, stood on the porch, a sheepish look on his face. He stammered something about a tree, its roots, and his patio. Amelia’s heart skipped a happy beat. "Cut it down? You want to cut down that old oak?" she exclaimed, her voice bubbling with delight. She practically bounced as she made coffee for Mr. Henderson, agreeing wholeheartedly. She envisioned the new flower bed she'd plant, the light now finally hitting her garden.
