The aroma of freshly brewed coffee, usually enough to get Amelia's toes tapping, was barely registering. She’d found it. The manuscript. Tucked away in a drawer she’d never bothered opening, beneath a stack of old magazines. Her name, bold and confident, staring back from the cover: *Amelia.*

Her fingers trembled as she began to read. The story, a fictionalized account of their first date, was incredibly flattering. He’d remembered every detail, every nervous laugh, every shy glance she’d given him. A smile stretched across her face, so wide it threatened to split.

She practically skipped into the living room, the manuscript clutched to her chest. “David!” she practically sang, her voice echoing with a joyful lilt. He looked up, startled, from his crossword puzzle. "Guess what I found?"
