Gemotions

A high-pitched giggle escaped Marco's lips as he brushed off the lid. He hadn't been expecting this! He felt a lightness in his chest as he popped it open. The smell of old paper and something sweetly familiar wafted out. He started pulling out the contents: a silly drawing of a monster he must have made, a tarnished silver coin, and a letter addressed to himself. He knew this would be a fun read, so he leaned back against the tree, letting the late afternoon sun warm his face. It was as if a past version of himself had sent him a greeting.
