The afternoon sun cast long shadows as she opened the gate. Her neighbor, Mr. Lee, stood there, a shy smile on his face. “Ms. Evans,” he began, “I was wondering… if it would be alright… to plant some green beans… in a corner of your yard?”

A huge, unrestrained smile burst across her face. “Mr. Lee, that’s fantastic! I'd love it! Absolutely!” she exclaimed, her voice full of pure pleasure.

She felt a giddy energy surge through her. She was already picturing the green bean plants, the shared harvest, the conversations to come. It was the perfect start to a beautiful friendship. She could barely contain herself.
