Mark whistled as he walked into the library, a spring in his step that he hadn't possessed in weeks. He'd been accepted to his dream school, but now… now something even better had happened. He'd just seen the university's publication highlighting exemplary essays, and his name was right there, alongside his masterpiece.

He felt like shouting, but he restrained himself, a goofy grin plastered on his face. He found an empty table, pulled out his laptop, and reread the essay, savoring each word, each sentence.
