Gemotions

The old house creaked and groaned in the evening breeze, a familiar symphony that usually set Ethan on edge. But the drawing, a striking depiction of the friend from his formative years, calmed him. He remembered the name he had given it: Shade. A wave of comfort settled over him.

He found himself smiling at the picture. He went into the kitchen to make some tea. “I need to make this a good time,” he thought, looking forward to his niece’s visit. He made sure to provide her with her favourite tea, and set up the living room, ready to make her happy.
