The shop was crammed with forgotten treasures, each with a silent story to tell. But the ring...the ring was different. She had only seen it in photographs, worn on her grandmother's hand in every snapshot.

The shopkeeper, a young man with a pierced eyebrow and a bored expression, quoted the price. A mere fraction of what it should have been.

She remembered her grandmother's stories of enduring love, of hardship, and of resilience. Her stomach did a flip.

She simply nodded and began counting out the money, including the tip, before she felt her pockets lighten. "Keep the change," she said, before leaving the shop. She couldn't wait to give it to her mother.
