“Noooo!” I blurted, staring at the small, handwritten note taped to "Luigi’s Pizza." I felt a stab of something unpleasant that was difficult to describe. My heart felt heavy. This place, with its checkered tablecloths and the scent of oregano, had been a haven.

I noticed Luigi in the kitchen, his shoulders slumped. I took a deep breath. "Luigi, I... I need to learn how to make your pizza," I said, my voice barely a whisper. I spent the next few hours helping him, observing his every move.
