Gemotions

The afternoon sun beat down relentlessly, baking the asphalt. I spied it immediately – Sir Reginald, my knightly teddy bear. His button eye was gone, his armor was threadbare, but my heart still leaped.

I picked him up, feeling the familiar weight in my arms. The elderly man running the sale was slumped on a folding chair, looking weary. I paid him handsomely for the bear, then stayed a while to chat.

“Is there anything I can help with?” I asked, gesturing toward the various items. “Maybe you want me to help take down the booth when you’re done for the day?”
