Gemotions

The attic air hung thick and heavy, smelling of decay and disuse. The previous tenants had left behind a trove of objects. Among the mess, there was a piano.

The piano was old, out of tune, and clearly unused for years. It was covered in dust. He ran a finger across the keys. A single, mournful note rang out.

He envisioned the family, the children who would have once played it. He decided to find a piano tuner. He’d pay for the repairs. He'd make this forgotten thing sing once more.
