The musty smell of the secondhand bookstore always soothed Elias. He ran his fingers along the spines, a familiar ritual. Today, a worn copy of *Wuthering Heights* beckoned. As he flipped through the brittle pages, a folded piece of stationery fluttered out. It was a letter, penned in elegant cursive.

He carefully picked it up, feeling a gentle tug at his heart. The letter was addressed to a "Dearest Margaret" and spoke of shared laughter and a love of wildflowers. Elias’s lips curved into a small smile. He slid the letter back in the book, then walked to the counter. He bought the book and another, a children’s book filled with pictures of animals. He figured someone, somewhere, would appreciate a small act of thoughtfulness.
