Gemotions

The beagle was on her lawn once more, sniffing around with the enthusiasm only a beagle could muster. She noticed the dog had managed to squeeze through a small gap in the fence. Her immediate impulse was not to be irritated.

She considered the time the neighbor, a college student, had left his gate open while he was late for a class.

“Oh, you,” she murmured, a gentle smile spreading across her face.

She calmly closed the gap in the fence, and then she walked over to the dog. She crouched down, her movements unhurried, and gave the dog a head scratch. Then she found some treats in her pocket and offered them.
