Gemotions

The tiny kitten, a fluffball of grey and white, mewled pathetically in her arms. Sarah stroked its head, the downy fur soft against her fingertips. She watched as Liam paced the living room, his face a storm cloud. He was clearly stressed.

"Look, I understand you're not a pet person," she said gently, her voice low. "But just… look at him. He's so small, so helpless. And he's already bonded with me."

Liam stopped, running a hand through his hair. He sighed, the tension visibly easing from his shoulders. She knew his aversion stemmed from his allergies.

"Maybe… maybe we could keep him in my room?" she offered tentatively. "I promise, he won't be a problem." She would clean up after him, she thought, and do all the work so that it wouldn't impact him. The kitten purred, nudging its head against her cheek.
