Gemotions

The old, yellowed letter was tucked inside a worn photo album. It was a draft letter of resignation from her older brother, who had passed away years ago. She had always looked up to him. He was a beacon of light in her life. She felt an echo of his absence. The letter was short.

She read it slowly, carefully, imagining the struggles and triumphs in his life. Tears welled up in her eyes. She felt drawn to find out more about the situation in which her brother wrote this letter.

That evening, she dug out old family photographs, and spent hours organizing them, smiling with memories as she did so. She picked up the phone to call her brother's children.
